What are Ombre Brows?
Ombre Brows are a more permanent version of my highly popular treatment the #BBE! You get the perfect finish, but instead of lasting four weeks, these will last up to 3 years! Ombré Brows are a semi-permanent powder brow technique for clients who prefer a fuller result than hair strokes. The brows begin lighter and gradually get darker towards the tail of the brow, giving a perfect, fluffy, finished makeup effect. The benefits of semi-permanent makeup include saving time and money, by not needing to buy brow makeup on a regular basis and drawing on your brows daily. This treatment is ideal for anyone who struggles to achieve perfect, even brows and especially for clients with poor vision or shaky hands.
Who is suitable?
You must be 18 years of age or over. You must not be on medication for acne (Accutane). If you have previously taken Accutane you must have stopped taking this medication for 12 months prior to a micro-blading session. Under no circumstances should you have this treatment if you are pregnant/breastfeeding, have type 1 or 2 diabetes/
chemotherapy/radiation/cancer. If you have any allergies/disorders/disabilities, please let me know upon enquiry. If you have had your brows tattooed/micro-bladed before, they must have been done at least 1 year prior to your booking & they must have significantly faded.
Does it hurt?
The treatment can be slightly uncomfortable, but bearable. You may use your own numbing cream but I would advise against this as it can affect the colour retention and your healed results. Redheads, blondes and oily/fair skin types may experience more swelling and redness than darker skin types.
How much does it cost?
Ombre Brows: £649 (price includes one retouch to be taken 1-3 months after your first session)
Colour Boosts & Retouches
Additional retouch: £75 (to be taken within the first 7 months of your initial appointment, and only if needed)
1 Year Ombre Colour Boost: £199 (only if needed)
2/3 Year Ombre Colour Boost: £299
3/4 Year Ombre Colour Boost: £399
4/5 Year Ombre Colour Boost: £499
(Price will return to £649 after 5 years depending on how much they have faded - they may need a retouch, I will check this upon consultation)
All of the above includes a full consultation, a pre-draw to perfection, the procedure and thorough after care advice. Please leave your brows to grow as much as possible before your appointment. I will tidy them for you on the day. All prices are subject to change.
Avoid any activity that will cause you to sweat on the day of your treatment. Do not take Aspirin, Fish oil, Coumadin, Vitamin E or Ibuprofen 48-72 hours prior unless medically advised. Paracetamol is fine. You have to have stopped taking acne medication (Accutane) for one year - no exceptions. Avoid caffeine and alcohol the day before, on the day and the day after your treatment. Smoking will cause the pigment to prematurely fade. You are responsible for maintaining your appointments.
Do not have fake tan/sunburn on your face/brows on the day of your treatment. No sun 30 days prior and post treatment (re-touch also). If you arrive at your appointment with a fake tan/sunburn you will be required to reschedule and your deposit will be forfeited. I reserve the right to apply my own discretion if I feel that pre-procedure advice has not been followed. Please keep growing your brows as much as you can before your appointment. I will tidy them on the day. It is also recommended to wait at least 30 days if you have them tinted/waxed after the procedure, so you're fully healed.
After your treatment, when you get home after 30-60 minutes, please clean the treated area with cool, boiled water using clean cotton pads to remove any blood/lymphatic fluid. Repeat this twice more leaving 2 hourly intervals in between. Then dry heal for the next 13 days. If you accidentally wet the area, use a dry tissue and pat gently. On day 3/4.. if you feel they are very dry you may use a small amount of Bepanthen (nappy rash cream) but please don't over moisturise them. Only touch the area with clean hands during the healing process. Any scabbing or flaking will naturally shed. Some itching is normal, but please don't pick, peel or scratch the treated area as the colour may heal unevenly and you will risk scarring and infection. Do NOT apply any creams or makeup on the treated area for two weeks after your treatment. You can get the area wet after two weeks from your initial treatment, but only if all of the scabs have disappeared. Your aftercare procedure is just as important as your initial treatment. Absolutely NO exercise, swimming, sunbathing, sunbeds, saunas, direct shower spray, water or makeup should be applied in the area during the healing period. (14 days after treatment) Avoid sleeping on your face for two weeks after the treatment. It is recommended to apply some vaseline to your brows when swimming after they've healed to protect the colour and stop chlorine/saltwater from entering. No swimming until the area has completely healed. It is recommended to apply some vaseline to your brows when swimming after healing to protect the colour and stop chlorine/saltwater from entering.
There are many factors that can affect the result of your ombre brows. The main factor is aftercare. The better you look after your brows the longer they will last. Our skin changes as we age so eventually it will look more powdered. This happens will all SPMU procedures. The area will shed, taking some colour. This is normal. The brows will start to oxidise and darken over the 1st month. It is common to have some areas fading more than others. This is part of the healing process and will be treated at the retouch appointment. Skin type is also another factor that can affect the result. If you have oily skin, your results will look softer and more powdered instead of crisp. If you have dark skin, please be aware your SPMU will not appear as bold as lighter skin types. Redheads, blondes and fair skin types may experience more fading than darker skin types.
If you have had your brows tattooed/micro-bladed before, had laser removal or have had a brow hair transplant, because of the scar tissue it can take 1-3 treatments (or more depending) to achieve your desired result. This is because the scar tissue that has formed in the brow area will need additional procedures and fees will apply. Unfortunately, there is only so much I can do and if you have had previous work or had a bad experience elsewhere - I can only do the best I can, and cannot guarantee you will get the same results as my clients who have a clear base, to begin with.
How long does it last?
The Everlasting BBE (ombre brows) can last anywhere between two to five years before they start to fade. As this is a semi-permanent treatment, I cannot guarantee your new brows will ever fully disappear, but when they fade over the years, they will fade evenly. Although, it really depends on your skin, lifestyle and maintenance. I recommend having a tint + wax every 6-8 weeks to maintain the fresh look of your ombre brows or micro-blading. As my basic tint and waxing appointments aren't available due to being so busy, I would advise buying some home tint for personal use! It's great for giving your brows a refresh from time to time.
