What is micro-blading?
Microblading is a form of tattooing. It's a semi-permanent eyebrow procedure using a specialist handheld tool that holds disposable micro-blades. The pigment is implanted into the superficial dermis, which allows me to create crisp, soft, and natural-looking hair strokes. This treatment is perfect for those who suffer from hair loss, those who have over-plucked & those who have full brows but want to enhance and perfect their shape. Microblading lasts between 1-2 years depending on maintenance, skin type, medications, sun exposure & lifestyle.
Am I eligible?
I would strongly only advise you to have micro-blading if you have normal to dry skin, tight pores and have zero to no hair. Clients with quite a lot of brow hair (even if it's fine) would be more suited to the ombre brows (the everlasting bbe). Microblading will not suit clients with oily skin types. You must be 18 years of age or over. You must not be on medication for acne (Accutane). If you have previously taken Accutane, you must have stopped taking this medication for 12 months before a microblading session. Under no circumstances should you have this treatment if you are pregnant/breastfeeding, have type 1 or 2 diabetes/chemotherapy/radiation/cancer. If you have any allergies/disorders/disabilities, please let me know upon enquiry. If you have had your brows tattooed/micro-bladed before, they must have been done at least one year before your booking & they must have significantly faded.
Does it hurt?
The treatment can be slightly uncomfortable, but bearable. You may use your own numbing cream but I would advise against this as it can affect the colour retention and your healed results. Redheads, blondes and oily/fair skin types may experience more swelling and redness than darker skin types.
How much does it cost?
Microblading: £499.00 (price includes one retouch to be taken 1-3 months after your first session)
The Brow Blend: £599.00 (two sessions - A mixture of mainly micro-blading with a little shading, advised by me if needed, upon virtual consultation)
Colour Boosts & Retouches
Additional retouch: £75.00 (to be taken within the first 7 months of your initial appointment, and only if needed)
1 Year Microblading Colour Boost: £199.00 (only if needed)
2-3 Year Microblading Colour Boost: £299.00
3-4 Year Microblading Colour Boost: £399.00
I would strongly advise after 1-3 years of micro-blading, to really consider having a soft ombre colour boost. This will be much less damaging to your skin long term. Years and years of having micro-blading will eventually cause scar tissue buildup and your new bladed hair strokes will most likely become blurry/powdery looking and less visible. Having an ombre colour boost will be kinder to your skin, last much longer and fade over time much more evenly.
The initial price includes a full consultation, initial procedure, thorough aftercare advice and a re-touch when needed. I recommend having a tint/wax one week prior to or on the day of the patch test as this will tidy your brows ready for the Microblading. All prices are subject to change.
Pre Procedure Advice
Avoid any activity that will cause you to sweat on the day of your treatment. Do not take Aspirin, Fish oil, Coumadin, Vitamin E or Ibuprofen 48-72 hours prior unless medically advised. Paracetamol is fine. You have to have stopped taking acne medication (Accutane) for one year - no exceptions. Avoid caffeine and alcohol the day before, on the day and the day after your treatment. Smoking will cause the pigment to prematurely fade. You are responsible for maintaining your appointments.
Do not have fake tan/sunburn on your face/brows on the day of your treatment. No sun 30 days prior and post treatment (re-touch also). If you arrive at your appointment with a fake tan/sunburn you will be required to reschedule and your deposit will be forfeited. I reserve the right to apply my own discretion if I feel that pre-procedure advice has not been followed. Please keep growing your brows as much as you can before your appointment. I will tidy them on the day. It is also recommended to wait at least 30 days if you have them tinted/waxed after the procedure, so you're fully healed.
After your treatment, when you get home after 30-60 minutes, please clean the treated area with cool, boiled water using clean cotton pads to remove any blood/lymphatic fluid. Repeat this twice more leaving 2 hourly intervals in between. Then dry heal for the next 13 days. If you accidentally wet the area, use a dry tissue and pat gently. On day 3/4, if you feel they are very dry you may use a small amount of Bepanthen (nappy rash cream) but please don't over moisturise them. Only touch the area with clean hands during the healing process. Any scabbing or flaking will naturally shed. Some itching is normal, but please don't pick, peel or scratch the treated area as the colour may heal unevenly and you will risk scarring and infection. Do NOT apply any creams or makeup on the treated area for two weeks after your treatment. You can get the area wet after two weeks from your initial treatment, but only if all of the scabs have disappeared. Your aftercare procedure is just as important as your initial treatment. Absolutely no exercise, swimming, sunbathing, sunbeds, saunas, direct shower spray, water or makeup should be applied in the area during the healing period. (14 days after treatment) Avoid sleeping on your face for two weeks after the treatment. No swimming until the area has completely healed. It is recommended to apply some vaseline to your brows when swimming after they've healed to protect the colour and stop chlorine/saltwater from entering.
There are many factors that can affect the result of your micro-blading treatment. The main factor is aftercare. The better you look after your Microblading the longer they will last. Our skin changes as we age so eventually micro-blading will look more powdered. This happens will all SPMU procedures. Hair strokes will appear crisp and bold at first but will soften up in appearance as the tissue heals. The area will shed, taking some colour. This is normal. The brows will start to oxidise and darken over the 1st month. It is common to have some areas fading more than others. This is part of the healing process and will be treated at the recommended re-touch appointment. Skin type is also another factor that can affect the result. If you have oily skin, your results will look softer and more powdered instead of crisp. If you have dark skin, please be aware your SPMU will not appear as bold as lighter skin types. Redheads, blondes and fair skin types may experience more fading than darker skin types.
If you have had your brows micro-bladed before, has laser removal or have had a brow hair transplant, because of the scar tissue it can take 1-3 treatments (or more depending) to achieve your desired result. This is because the scar tissue that has formed in the brow area will need additional procedures and fees will apply. Unfortunately, there is only so much I can do and if you have had previous work or had a bad experience elsewhere - I can only do the best I can, and cannot guarantee you will get the same results as my clients who have a clear base to begin with.
To enquire or make a booking, please text me (no calls or voicemails please) on 07701 308304 with your full name and the treatment you desire, and I will get back to you as soon as possible with more information. As I work alone, I like to do all of my consultations virtually, so I will ask you a range of questions and advise the best treatment to suit you and your skin type. I am very busy, and I appreciate your patience, but please allow up to 3-10 days for my reply to your message.
